    Hi StaceyAEH.

that seems like a bit of an issue. Now, what’s your temperature like when you’re driving at speed (i.e. on the highway)?

Aslo, when it starts to go up while idling, can you rev it up to say 2000 RPM and see what happens?

    Let me know.

JFreddy, as the check engine light is not on, it’s probably that this code was stored before (being inactive, so to say, when you scanned the car).

Can you take it for a drive and check if it pops up again?

Have you vented the cooling system after doing all the repairs? You may have air inside it, which can cause such issues.

Additionally, your coolant pump might be worn out and unable to shift enough coolant, which results in the engine running hotter than it should.

Hey Shiner452, here’s what’s the most likely cause – as you’ve previously overfilled the engine with oil, the excess amount gradually went up through the PCV (crankcase ventilation system) into the intake manifold.

Now, you did take care of the oil, but there is still some of it left inside the PCV tubing. But, assuming this is the problem, it will get burned off by the engine in a few days, or maybe a week or so.

But if this continues, let us know, there might be something else.

Do you have sludge on the dipstick now? Also, is there any on the oil filler cap?

You always have small traces of sludge due to the condensation from the air, especially if you drive short distances a lot, and the humidity is high in your area.

If my theory about the PCV valve and tubing is correct, it will take several hundred miles until the excess/overflown oil is burned. It probably accumulated within the intake manifold, and it takes time.

    Hi irlaboy👍

Judging by the symptoms and error codes, you have a malfunctioning turbocharger boost control position sensor. It sends the wrong data to the ECM, which is why your wastegate is acting unusual.

Hey HandyMama0204, does the frequency of this clicking sound change with the engine speed? I.e. does it get faster when you rev the engine?

Hey fridaynightbingo, let’s see if we can figure this out👍

What brand of spark plugs have you fitted? And, as daft as it may sound, are you 100% sure they are right for your car?

Also, are you getting any DTC codes?

Does it get better or worse when the engine warms up?

Sorry to hear about this, syswizard😮

Now, if the cat is fitted below the car, you could buy a universal one and have it welded onto the exhaust. But this probably won’t be possible if it is integrated into the exhaust manifold.

As for O2 sensors, my advice is to get new ones from a parts store. You don’t need to buy OEM from the dealer. Brands like NGK or Bosch should do the trick.

    I hope that helps.

Also, take a look at our video about O2 sensors if you want to know more👇👇

    Hey rickloco,

Apart from being sore in the eye, curb rush is not dangerous. That is, at least if the edge of the rim is not deformed.

As for the tire – do you have a photo of said indent?

    Hey doyp2102,

just to check – you’ve said it starts to make that sound just after the first turn with the steering wheel. Although I don’t see the relation between that and the clutch at first, but this sound would be linked to the power steering.

Can you look under the hood and find a power steering reservoir to see if there is enough fluid inside?

    Hey earlybirddisco

So, you have a diesel Santa Fe that you want to continue to drive, but want to put a gas engine from another Santa Fe you also have.

OK, as an upside, as you have the gas car as a donor vehicle, you’ll have all the parts needed for the conversation. And that’s where the upsides end, more or less😢

This is quite a job, to be honest – you’d need to swap the engine with the transmission, all of the drivetrain-related electrics and engine harnesses, fuel tank, and differentials (gas and diesel are geared differently), just to name a few bigger things.

It’s more than doable, though, but it’s a big job.

    Hey victorduchateau,

let’s start with the basics – do you have any error codes?

Also, assuming you have a scan tool – could you check the fuel trims?

    Hey kevigilante90

So, sometimes you can’t open it using a key fob (remote)?

If so, the fob may be dead. Do you have a spare key and a fob, to try with that?

Also, check out the video we’ve just made about reprogramming the key fob👇

If you are having so much trouble finding it, an authorized dealer will be your best chance, TBH.
