    My son has a 2012 chevy impala and about 4 months ago the AC stopped working and this god awful clicking/knocking sound happens. It doesn’t last longer than a minute but it only happens when you get in the car. Sometimes it’s delayed and will start happening after the car is on but will stop completely, until you have to get in the car again.
    **Absolutely unsure if the AC not working and the God awful sound are related issues.

    Hey HandyMama0204, does the frequency of this clicking sound change with the engine speed? I.e. does it get faster when you rev the engine?

    I think it’s relay issue. You should check relays with multimeter if you know how to use it. One of them might be malfunctioning and switching wrongly.
