    I have a 2009 Volvo s40 that has 1 Key and 1 FOB.
I just bought this car, and it has no Owner’s Manual.
Unfortunately, the FOB is Not Working
When I Unlock the Door and Open it with the “Hidden Key” the Alarm Sounds and I have to put the key in the ignition to shut it off.

Please, is there any way to Reprogram it.

I also have the Trunk which will not open with the Button above the License Plate, and the FOB is Not Working.
I believe I’ve tried ALL the YouTube Videos and Internet Pages with Information.
I would assume there ‘s a Fuse for these things, but I’m not sure which Exact Number it is, if you know?
Any Help would be Greatly Appreciated.

    Thank You!

    RE: Trunk Release.
The button above the License Plate is Not Working –
There is NO KEY / LOCK
I unplugged the Electrical Connector and tried to JUMP the Wires – as seen on a YouTube Video.. but was Unsuccessful… and the TRUNK OPEN LIGHT was on.  Plugged Connector back in and the Message: Trunk Open went out.

It’s important to note that some Volvo S40 models may require professional programming for new key fobs. If you are unsure whether your car can be programmed yourself, consult your owner’s manual or contact a Volvo dealership.

The alarm going off when you unlock with the key could be due to a malfunctioning fob or a problem with the car’s security system itself. A qualified mechanic can pinpoint the cause.

The alarm sounding when you unlock with the hidden key could be because the car doesn’t recognize the key due to a faulty FOB or a problem with the car’s immobilizer system. Resolving the FOB issue should ideally take care of the alarm as well.
