I am looking to swap out my automatic transmission for a manual on my 2011 Fusion. This seems to be a larger undertaking than I anticipated because a manual transmission is rare in a 2011 Fusion. I am unable to directly find a “2011 Ford Fusion manual transmission” to purchase. Beyond that, I’m not sure what I should be looking for. Any advice? Are there any compatible transmissions that might be more common?

Another issue I expect to run into is reprogramming the computer for a manual transmission. Any advice would be great.

If anyone has any advice on this upgrade in regard to my specific vehicle, it would be greatly appreciated. What parts are compatible? Where can I find a drive train (for example)? How much can I expect this to cost? Etc.

You’ll need quite a lot of parts for this conversation, marc.soda. In addition to the gearbox itself, you’ll need the flywheel and clutch, clutch cylinder, gear linkage, and brake reservoir with hoses, just to name a few. In all fairness, finding a parts car (crashed or something like that) is the only feasible option.

What’s wrong with your automatic transmission?
