Older truck. New battery and starter. Shut off driving, can’t get it to start. Dumped gas in carburetor. Still nothing. Been shifting hard. Possible shift solenoid?

Hi You need to check and verify if you have spark. What vehicle and car is it? Difficult to answer without any information!

Yes because the thread is in slightly wrong forum section. Should be in repair help where you can choose car model.

However, did you verify if you have spark while cranking?

You should check spark plug and also check wiring that it’s not cutting from somewhere.

Ok,  If it was me I would verify you have spark.  You said you tried dumping gas in it.  I don’t suggest  for people to use a very little of starting fluid.   Just enough to see if it starts.   If it does I would start by checking the fuel pressure.   With it being a 92 I have seen cars fuel filter clog up from ethenal buildup.
