P0456 – Dodge Nitro 2008

    My wife’s Dodge Nitro keeps getting a P0456 code small leak evap.  My FIL says it’s just a code nothing to fix.  I can’t believe I’m asking this but….is there actually a part that needs to be fixed like a hose, canister ect.  Thanks in advanced

    The P0456 often appears if you have been refueling your car with the engine running, or forgot to tighten the fuel cap properly. It can also be a small leak in the EVAP system or a broken EVAP purge control valve.

    However,  I would look at one of the first reasons first!
