    Last month I got error code P0088 Fuel rail pressure to high that went away after 24hrs last week when cold starting the rpm dance and when accelerating there is hesataion and rpm’s jumping high

    You need to measure and check the fuel pressure sensor and its wirings. However, high fuel pressure could be caused by a bad fuel pressure regulator, but in most cases it’s false alarm due to a faulty pressure sensor!

    Code P0088 indicates a problem with the fuel supply system, namely too high pressure in the fuel rail or fuel system. P0087 may also appear with this error, as well as other errors related to misfires in the engine cylinders and the engine running on a too lean or too rich fuel mixture. P0088 is a general trouble code that indicates that the engine control module (ECM) has detected a problem with the fuel delivery system. This error will occur if the vehicle’s ECM receives a signal from the fuel pressure sensor indicating that the fuel pressure is too high. When a P0088 error occurs, the Check Engine light will come on on the vehicle’s dashboard, indicating a malfunction. The ECM will also put the vehicle into emergency mode to prevent further damage. The vehicle will remain in this mode until the error is corrected.
