Humming noise acceleration – Vauxhall zafira

    My car is a Vauxhall zafira ( but couldn’t find Vauxhall) the issue I have is that today my car has started to make a high pitch whining sound when accelerating the pitch of the noise changes with the revs. I’m thinking alternator? But the battery is fine and there is no other problem. Any ideas what this could be?

    Try spraying a little lubricant spray on the serpentine belt when the engine is running and see if it gets silent or better. If it does, you need to tighten the belt or replace the belt + tensioner!
