Car Forum › Repair & Maintenance › Spark plugs ruined too fast – Nissan 370Z 1.5 L HR15DE I4 2012
The car is a 2012 Nissan Micra K13 1.5L, couldn’t find it as an option to select for car model. I changed the spark plugs at 100,000km and its at around 120,000km now and they need full replacement. The engine kept stuttering and when I pulled them out the middle electrode was completely gone on all of then.
The spark plugs I used were NGK LZKAR6AP-11 which should last 100,000km but it didn’t even make it to a quarter of that. I’m going to change them again but I have no idea what caused them to wear so quickly. If the problem is with something else then I’d rather fix that than have to keep checking every 10,000km to make sure they haven’t been worn down again. An image added below of one of the spark plugs for reference.
