Noise coming from struts

    I replaced the front struts on my car using a KYB strut kit. I took the old struts and put the new struts in since the strut kit came with everything. Now there is a knocking noise in the front of the car. What could that noise be?

    My first thought is that you forgot to tighten something like a sway bar link, making loud sounds if they are worn or not tightened.

    My other thought – Did you install new upper top mount bearings? If you put a shim or a washer in the wrong order it may cause a sound

    Thank you for your assistance brother. I tightened all the bolts that I removed during the strut and stabilizer bars replacement. I do not think that anything is loose.

    I will check the top mount bearings to see if they are the issue. That might be what it is.
