EPC light on – Nee – Volkswagen Jetta 1.8T 2014

    EPC light comes on.  Does clear by turning car off and back on.  Car runs fine.  But does lose some oil (no leaks – oil just seems to dissappear).   VW dealer and other shops cannot identify the problem.

    Had this problem previously and oil loss became serious.  Thus replaced the engine.  But now seems to be the start of the same problem with this engine.

    Hello.

    The oil problem is most likely not related to the EPC Light. VW are knows for burning a lot of oil, so it could be normal.

    However, if the EPC light is on, there must be a trouble code stored which you need to read. Other common reason for an EPC light if the engine is replaced is like a brake light switch. But need to check the trouble codes!
